Board of Education
The Caledonia Community Schools Board of Education is dedicated to the success of our students and is guided by the district's mission, that in the pursuit of excellence, CCS will empower and equip all persons to achieve their best by ensuring the highest quality systems for learning. The seven school board members are elected for six-year terms in even year November elections by the residents of our school district.
Board members work collaboratively to accomplish district goals, to hire and evaluate the superintendent, to monitor and create the policies that govern our students and district and to oversee the financial operations of the district. Board members are not involved in the day-to-day operations of the district.
The school board is committed to transparent operations and considers effective communication with all stakeholders of the district to be of the utmost importance. Board members are the bridge between the school district and community. There is a time for public comment at all board meetings and board members are also available via email. If you have a student enrolled at CCS and have a specific complaint, we encourage you to start the conversation with your student’s teacher and principal.
Board of Education Meetings
Guided by four elected officers (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer), the school board members work closely with the superintendent to conduct their business during regular school board meetings held each month. It is during these meetings that official business will be brought to vote. All regular board meetings are open to the public and provide a time for public comment.
Additionally, all members of the board are on a Committee of the Whole. This committee discusses topics of importance before taking action at the regular meeting.
The Caledonia Community Schools Board of Education meets monthly on the third Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the administration office located at 8948 Kraft Ave., unless noted differently below.
Minutes of Caledonia Community School board meetings are posted following board approval which occurs at the next scheduled board meeting. Below you will find minutes of the current academic year. In addition, the district archives the most recent two (2) academic years on our web page.
