1. When creating formulas, remember that every formula must start with an = sign.
Example: =B4+B5 (if there is no equals sign, your formula will not work)
2. To print with formulas showing:
Click Tools on the menu toolbar
Click Preferences on the drop down list
Make sure the view tab is selected
Check the box next to formulas
Click ok
Your formulas should now be showing on your spreadsheet!! (don't worry if your formatting has changed a little, it will go back when you turn your formulas off)
3. If you wish to print with gridlines:
Click File on the menu toolbar
Click Page setup from the drop down list
Click the sheet tab
Check the box next to gridlines
Click ok
4. To center a title across your spreadsheet (do this as your absolute last item):
Type your desired title in cell A1
Highlight cell A1 and continue highlighting across to desired cell (ex: A1to D1)
On the formatting toolbar select the merge and center button (has a capital letter A in it with two arrows pointing in).
Your title should now be center over your spreadsheet
5. To format cells (change to percent, currency etc.)
Have cells highlighted that you want to format
Click on format on the menu toolbar
Select cells from the drop down menu
Select desired tab from menu to format your work
(borders tab-adds borders around cells)
(number tab-changes the format to different things like currency, percentage, decimal)
(patterns tab - adds a pattern background to whatever cells you have highlighted)
(font tab - changes font)
When finished choosing items in the format menu box, Click ok
