I am honored and humbled to serve you as Superintendent of Caledonia Community Schools. Caledonia is a great district that focuses on students. We have always been known as a district that loves and cares for every student. That feeling is alive and well in the community. I see it every day with parents and staff working together for the good of every student in Caledonia. We are a great community—getting better every day.
I have had the privilege of watching Caledonia Community Schools become a great school district over the 36 years I have been employed here. Today, we are known as a progressive and innovative school district that keeps its sights on each and every child. Every child is special in our eyes.
I joined the Caledonia Community School District in 1973 as a 6th grade teacher at Dutton Elementary. In 1985, I was appointed Principal at Dutton Elementary School. I remained in that position for 20 years. I have been in the current position of Superintendent since 2005.
I am married to a wonderful spouse, Peggy, who works in Marketing for Steelcase. We have two children, Craig and Wendy. Craig is an attorney who lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan with his wife Kristin. They have one child,Elizabeth. Wendy is an elementary teacher and lives with her husband, Matt, in Portage Michigan. They have three children, Ella Grace, Alexia and Ethan.
I am very fortunate to have spent my career in Caledonia. I cannot think of a better place to work. Each year we receive hundreds of applications for every job opening. The word is out that Caledonia is a great place to work!
